Scene and 1st part of Gypsy Song from Spanish Caprice by Rimsky Korsakov.

These are the instruments that we have to look out for:

  • Snare drum.
The snare drum or side drum is a  cylindrical-shaped percusion instrument known for its powerful, staccato sound. Snare drums are often used in orchestras, concert bands, marching bands, parades, drumlines, drum corps, and more. The snare is also one of the central pieces in a trap set, a collection of percussion instruments designed to be played by a seated drummer, which is used in many popular genres of music. Snare drums are typically played with drum sticks, although there are other options for a completely different sound, such as the brush.

This is what it sounds like:

  • Trumpet.
It has the highest register in the brass family. As a signaling device in battle or hunting, trumpets have a very long history, dating back to at least 1500 BC; they have been used as musical instruments since the 15th century.
Let's listen to one:

  • Horn

horn is any of a family of musical instruments made of a tube, usually made of metal and often curved in various ways, with one narrow end into which the musician blows, and a wide end from which sound emerges.

  • Violin.

The violin, also called a fiddle, is a string instrument, usually with four strings tuned in perfect fifths. It is the smallest, highest-pitched member of the violin family of string instruments, which also includes the viola, and the cello

  • Kettledrum.

A type of drum, they consist of a skin called a head stretched over a large bowl traditionally made of copper.

  • Cymbals.

Cymbals are a common percussion instrument.  Cymbals consist of thin, normally round plates of various alloys. The majority of cymbals are of indefinite pitch, although small disc-shaped cymbals based on ancient designs sound a definite note.

  • Oboe.

Oboes /ˈb/ oh-boh are a family of double reed woodwind musical instruments. The most common oboe plays in the treble or soprano range. Oboes are usually made of wood, but there are also oboes made of synthetic materials.

  • Triangle.

The triangle is a musical instrument with three sides and curved corners. There is always one corner where the sides do not join. This makes it possible for the instrument to vibrate.

  • Trombones.

The trombone (/trɒmˈbn/) is a musical instrument in the brass family. Like all brass instruments, sound is produced when the player’s vibrating lips cause the air column inside the instrument to vibrate.

  • Tuba.

The tuba (UK /ˈtjuːbə/ or US /ˈtbə/) is the largest and lowest-pitched musical instrument in the brass family. Sound is produced by vibrating or "buzzing" the lips into a large cupped mouthpiece.
